HERALDRY STUDIES – TERMS & CONDITIONS Effective Date: September 14, 2026

Welcome to Heraldry Studies. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our website and services. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to the terms outlined below. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

  1. GENERAL INFORMATION

This website is owned and operated by Heraldry Studies, offering custom designed heraldic artwork, rings, origin maps, family history research summaries, and related products. References to "we," "our," or "us" mean Heraldry Studies. By using this website or purchasing our products or services, you confirm your agreement to these legally binding terms.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract, to place an order with us.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All website content, including artwork, crest renderings, origin map designs, written family history summaries, logos, product descriptions, and page layouts, is the property of Heraldry Studies and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws, regardless of whether that content was produced by hand, digitally, or with the assistance of software or AI tools as described in Section 6.

You are prohibited from:

  • Reproducing, distributing, publicly displaying, or creating derivative works from our content without written permission.
  • Claiming authorship or originality of our research summaries or artwork.
  • Using our designs commercially, including on third party print on demand services.

Violation of this section may constitute infringement and may result in civil and, where applicable, criminal penalties.

  1. ORDERS, PAYMENTS & PRICING
  • All orders are subject to product availability and price confirmation.
  • Prices may change without notice. A confirmed order is locked in at the price shown at the time of purchase.
  • Payment is processed through our secure third party providers (for example Shopify, Stripe, or PayPal).
  • We do not store your payment card details. Our payment processors handle and secure that information under their own applicable standards.
  1. REFUNDS, EXCHANGES & CUSTOM PRODUCTS
  • Custom work (personalized artwork, origin maps, research summaries, and engraved or sized rings) is produced to order and is non refundable once production has started or once delivered, except as set out below.
  • Refunds are issued for items damaged in transit or where you received the wrong item.
  • To request a remedy for a damaged or incorrect item, contact us within 7 days of receipt at heraldrystudies@findyourcrest.com with photos of the issue.
  • Return shipping is your responsibility unless the error originated with us.
  • Correctly produced, custom sized items such as rings are not eligible for return unless defective.
  1. SHIPPING & DELIVERY
  • We use established carriers and provide estimated, not guaranteed, delivery windows.
  • Delays caused by customs, weather, or carrier handling are outside our control and are not grounds for a refund on their own.
  • Once a package has left our facility or that of our production partner, we are not responsible for loss or delay by the carrier. Tracking and insurance options may be available to you at checkout.
  1. AI ASSISTED RESEARCH, PRODUCTION & ESTIMATION

Heraldry Studies uses a combination of historical archives, proprietary and third party heraldic databases, human review, and artificial intelligence tools in the course of researching surnames, drafting family history summaries, generating and refining artwork and imagery, and supporting customer service.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Research summaries, surname histories, and origin narratives are generated with the assistance of automated and AI based tools reviewed by our team, and may contain approximations, generalizations, or errors. They are provided for entertainment and decorative purposes and should not be relied upon as verified genealogical, historical, or legal fact.
  • References in our research to "records," "archives," or similar terms describe historical documentation of surname usage in heraldic sources, not an official or government verified genealogical record of your personal ancestry.
  • Any product imagery, mockups, or renderings produced with AI assisted tools are representative. Actual finished products may vary in exact detail, color, or composition from what is shown during the ordering process.
  1. HERALDIC ACCURACY AND FAMILY ASSOCIATION
  • Historically, a coat of arms was granted to a specific individual and that individual's direct descendants, not to every person who currently shares a surname.
  • Because many unrelated family lines can share the same surname across different regions and time periods, the crest, symbols, or history we associate with your surname reflect documented historical use of that surname within heraldic sources. They are an estimation based on surname research, not a verified determination that you personally descend from the specific historical bearer of those arms.
  • Our coats of arms, origin maps, and family history products are artistic interpretations created for decorative and personal enjoyment purposes. They are not issued, endorsed, or certified by any heraldic authority, genealogical society, or government body, and should not be used as proof of lineage, title, or legal identity.
  • By purchasing, you acknowledge that use of any heraldic content from our service is at your own discretion and for personal, decorative use.
  1. MARKETING CONTENT AND ILLUSTRATIVE MATERIAL
  • The majority of testimonials, reviews, and customer stories featured in our advertising, social media, and website reflect genuine customer experiences. Some may be composite depictions, combining elements from more than one real customer experience, or presented through restaged or dramatized scenes, stock elements, or AI generated or AI assisted visuals, for illustrative purposes.
  • Product imagery and mockups used during the ordering process are representative. Where marketing material is composite, restaged, dramatized, or AI assisted rather than a literal depiction of a single actual customer or transaction, that content is intended to convey the general style, look, or concept of our products and should not be relied upon as a literal representation of any one individual's experience or the exact appearance of your finished order.
  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential losses, including loss of business, profit, or goodwill.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to your order is capped at the amount you paid for that order.
  • We are not responsible for personal injury, property damage, or any decision made in reliance on the accuracy of research summaries, historical narratives, or heraldic content described in Sections 6 and 7.

Nothing in this section limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

  1. USER CONDUCT

When using our website or services, you agree not to:

  • Submit defamatory, illegal, or infringing content.
  • Interfere with or disrupt our systems or other users' experience.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to restricted areas of our systems.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  1. RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order at our discretion, including where we suspect fraud, where fulfilling the order would risk infringing a third party's rights, or where an order violates these Terms.

  1. PAYMENT DISPUTES

Any payment dispute or chargeback should be raised directly with us first at heraldrystudies@findyourcrest.com so we can attempt to resolve it. Chargebacks submitted in bad faith, where the underlying goods or services were in fact delivered as described, may result in the matter being referred for collection or legal action and may result in the loss of future ordering privileges.

  1. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

  1. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as of the date posted on this page. Continued use of the website or our services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
